Joe the Plumber might as well be Palin's running-mate in 2012.

You're right, that would be about as ridiculous as Palin running for President!  I just can't wait to stop hearing the bleating voice, though.

Obama is right on about the McCain camp trying to use fear to get votes.  Listening to Palin, you'd think Al-Qaeda is around every corner.

the election of Obama is a death sentence for Israel

****

Although most Jews are traditionally Democrats, a huge percentage of the Orthodox are pulling their hair out over the pending election of Obama. They don't feel great about Palin either, but Obama is driving them nuts. All I hear is talk of getting passports ready to move to Israel. Some kooks think this is the END, ya know? Messiah is coming! Smoly hokes!

It's even worse on some of the gay related boards I visit.  The venom that gets spouted about Christians there makes even the harshest remarks here look like patty-cake.

I've been on some of these boards as well, and I feel it's pretty safe to say that the complaints and remarks are usually in regards to a particularly nasty sect if Christianity.  I don't think these feelings are espoused in regards to Christianity as a whole...In fact, I know(as do you) that is not the case on this board or in this thread.

I need to disagree to some extent.  There are a couple here that very much do come across (whether they mean to or not) as anti-Christian as a whole.  As I said, not as frequently (or venomously) as some other places, but I still see it, but being a gay Christian, I'm used to seeing it.

Fair enough, I doubt it will be the last time we agree to disagree.

Ah, there you go again with the half truths and lies.  No.  I never said that.  I had posted that I heard the rumor she had but never said I believed it or that she had actually said it.  The same way some people here were saying that Sarah Palin wasn't the real mother of her child.  Remember that Jodi?  Who was it that said that?  I forget.

Wait the "hero of truth" posts a 'rumor" of a black candidates wife called white people "whitey" and you question my parenting skills by calling you out on your constant endorsement of the opposite party, you claim to belong to. The half truths and outright lies you have been posting on here about Obama makes my head spin.

Jodi, I hope you aren't teaching your children your definition of truth because they will truly be messed up for life.  Since all the stuff about her came to light I haven't defended her politics at all.  Period.

Just because I call  you on all your half-truths and lies doesn't mean I'm supporting her.  It just means I'm pointing out your half-truths and lies.

Scott as my mom would have said "Scott you are so full of shit your eyes have to be brown."

That's not the same as filibuster-proof.  That's what this election looks like it will become.  Big difference.

Okay, make me work here.

As far as I can see, the only Presidents in the past 100 years that have had filibuster proof Senate majorities (with House majorities at the same time) are:
Carter 1976-78
LBJ 1964-66
FDR 1934-42

How many of these were "disastrous"?  I'd say none.  Carter was a weak Presidency, but I don't know I'd call it disastrous, especially in his first two years.  FDR on the other hand was an incredibly effective President.  LBJ was mixed, a great President except for Vietnam (which of course is a huge "except for").

Anyway, I still think it's unlikely the Democrats will reach 60 in the Senate this year.
