Al -

You're a mean cynical person. How dare you think someone might think this way!

I am sad you have such little confidence in people.

Scott, I think Marcio was refering to your saying that Obama's negative campaign ads are more frequent than McCain's. Something you said earlier today.

I just saying that Al only pointed something that can happen, probably not from the McCain campaign itself, but from other right-conservative groups... They did that before, and they can do it again.

I am aware that this is a monstrous thing, but, hell, look at the things they said before...

Anyway, I don't see that as a big deal.

Paul, that's not what I said.  That may be how you interpreted it.  I was pointing out that both campaigns were still using negative ads.  Of course Obama would have more ads considering the money he has to work with.

Ok guys, I am going to sleep and I leave you this last thought...

Regardless the winner, the next President will have a lot to do in US.

Starting with the ridiculous voting system, even Brazil has a better system, 8 hours waiting to vote? that sounds like Russia, not US.

Look at the news, I don't get how people are so patient knowing how much money US spend with the military budget, how come they do not make an easier system?

I started voting at age of 18 and I never had to wait more than 40 minutes to vote, and that was just only once, now it does not take more than 10 minutes!!!

I've never waited to vote, and I've voted in every municipal, provincial and
federal election in twenty-two years.

Never. Waited. To. Vote.

The reason we are having to wait in line on this election, is because usually voter turnout is so low, there is no reason to have a ton of voting machines. But in my area the weather should be nice,  my oldest is going to stand in line with me, so I am sort of glad if it's a long line, because I will get some Jon-boy time.  :0)

I have to take this moment to say that I have enjoyed discussing politics with you all. I have gotten to know some really great people on this thread and not just from my own party. Guys like Bruce and Geoff have proven to me, that we can disagree on some issues, but thru it all, we are all Americans and love our families and our country.

um.  Jodi, you and I almost never disagree, but ... we wait in line to vote because it discourages people to vote.

That's all there is to that.

In other news:  Very sad about Toot passing.  Very sad.  Heart-breaking.  My thoughts go out to the Obama family tonight.

Simmer down you two . . . . the board's still burning from the "tastes great"
"less filling" brew-haha some months back.

As an outside observer, the problems you Americans continue to have
with the voting process seems farcical in the extreme.

Some folks are impressed with the audacity of political parties (such as
the GOP) to manipulate and create extreme havoc for the democratic
process so crassly and openly. Others are stunned into disbelief that it
couldn't possibly be happening in "the ruler of the free world".

The fact that Americans haven't been literally taking it to the streets over
this issue implies the majority have simply accepted the corruption of the
system. It's truly dismaying to watch, especially during this time of hope
and crisis in the US.

Waiting in line as a discouragement to vote is one thing, but stealing
votes (from those fortunate enough to get that far) reduces the absolute
value of the vote to a waste of time, freedom, and whatever hopes for
democracy the average American may have had. The concept that one
could cast a vote and have it stolen is literally vomit inducing.

Despite all this, there remains within me a strong desire to change my
citizenship, come to America--and vote Obama.

Good luck, everyone!

In all seriousness, another sad hit for team Obama.
