"We have a number of state and county referendums on this ballot...it took me forever just to figure out what they all meant, let alone how to vote on them...the fact that Obama got through that mess alone in 5-10 minutes is impressive!"

It really doesn't take that long to mark "Present" on the ballot...

...just had to get one last jab in.

I voted.  The line was not bad I waited maybe ten minutes.  The lines in Manhattan are INSANE.  Now we just have to wait.

Heard a news report this morning of some district reporting that there was a malfunction in their machine that resulted in each vote for McCain being registered as votes for Obama and vice versa.

Is the name of the town "Springfield" by any chance?

That was good for a smile.

Maybe, although I would suspect that in Springfield, a vote for either McCain or Obama would register as a vote for Mayor Joe Quimby!

Voted two weeks ago with my absentee ballot.  I miss showing up at the polls, but it sure makes it easier to read up on an issue or discuss it with my wife.  It's so much easier, I'm at a loss as to why most people don't vote this way.  Oregon is an all mail in ballet state.
Obama is a workhorse, he's off to Indiana today to try and bring it over to his side.  Going for the kill I guess you'd say.  McCain is also going to try and bring over a couple of state too.  These guys are working hard.
While I'm tired of the ads, I have enjoyed this campaign.  I'm voting Democrat, so I'm hoping for a big day.  I'm watching the networks and I'll be looking at the big board with all the states getting lighted up red or blue, fun stuff!

Wish I could go in the middle of the day... sigh... instead, I have seven classes to teach today!

Regardless of who wins -- tonight our long, national nightmare finally comes to an end.  By that I mean almost TWO F'NG YEARS of campaigning!

Just got back. Waited for 1/2 an hour. Weather here in PA is a nice* 50 degrees so it wasn't too bad.

Duty done. Not too much of a wait. Certainly more than any previous
election I've voted in.

But, now the frustration, of course. I voted for Obama, first time I have
voted for a Democrat for President. In the past, I have griped that my vote
was wasted, since Connecticut goes Democratic in the Electoral College
pretty much every time (and every time since I have lived here), but even
voting for the "sure thing" (at the Electoral level) raises the question Why
Bother? Again, my vote essentially counted for nothing -- especially with
such a large turnout (unless they're all Republicans!). My vote vanishes into
the Electoral pool, and once again the idea of One Man, One Vote is
essentially meaningless.
