As to news reporting. Conservatives have no one to blame other than themselves. In the era of the big 3 news networks, Conservatives railed about the 'liberal' media. I had no clue what they were talking about until Fox News arrived and I thought, "OK. If FOX News is their standard, I can see where one could call everything else "liberal", because FOX was off the charts, propaganda disguised as news.

But more than one can play that game. And I am forever grateful that MSNBC and particularly Keith Oberman stepped up to the plate to balance out the yen and the yang of the political field. -The genie was let out of the bottle by Ruppert Murdoch. He has no one to blame but himself.

That said, I find so much to be sad about news reporting. I don't mind 'opinion' shows like Bill O'Reilly. Everyone's free to scroll past what they find useless and my remote literally jumps past Bill-O, Glen Beck and the thankfully lost to oblivion, Tucker Carlson. -It's when the information news gets the biased treatment that I want to run for cover. Really, I don't need a CNN reported to be 'outraged' for me as he reports on the day's news. -I'm a big boy. I can do that on my own. I don't need someone to tell me how to feel, or think.

Whatever happens, I am glad to have this election cycle over. (Barring an unresolved, contested vote...)

Lou Dobbs can once again fix his tireless outrage on Immigration and our porous borders.

Well Vinny, folks with family buried in Arlington National Cemetery would hardly call the issue a 'talking point.' Nor would the millions of displaced Iraqi citizens who have fled their homes or watched their loved ones die because some neocon thought it was a good idea. -I feel for your trauma, but I'm not sure the dead feel comfortable about being dead so you can shop at Best Buy without a sense of ennui.

Have you seen Americans drive? You are more likely to die on a highway.

So simple any illiterate can vote.

That line was just too easy.  Not going to do it.  :P

C'mon, Scott. Don't make me look bad for sticking up for you yesterday.

You too!  Same thing with me.  Couldn't sleep past 6:30 AM this morning because I was excited & anxious about the election.  Only took a half hour at my polling place.  Not bad at all.  I don't mind the line or the wait.  I think I can take a half hour/hour out of my life once every four years for as important a decision as voting for president...oh and also voting "NO" on Prop 8 here in California.

Vinny, are you speaking of more airplanes crashed into buildings???

To avoid a repeat of that scenario, one would do better to focus on individuals having the training to fly a plane and their ability to commander a flight. I thought that was why the NSA was put in place... and baby bottles eliminated from carry-ons?

What does ideology have to do either of those things? A terrorist is hardly going to be moved by the personal story of John McCain. Unless they fear he will personally man a plane to fly over where they live. In which case, the wreckage from his plane going down is sure to put a dent in someone's day.

C'mon!  When someone feeds you a straight line like that on a silver platter, sometimes you just gotta lift the lid.  :)

LINESSSSS.
The most important right in a democracy and you have to wait???
That is not fair!!!
I think of myself with 18 years old, there is NO WAY I would wait to vote....
that is the sad part.
Like others here, I don't see this as such an egregious sin as you do.  I'm quite fine, thank you very much, with waiting in line. I've waited ten minutes to vote.  I've waited an hour to vote.  I waited a half hour to vote today.  If a person can't take an hour out of their day to make one of the most important decisions they are likely to face in an election year, then that person is looking for any excuse not to vote.  Special provisions are made for the elderly and handicapped.  They're just fine.  Having waited on the phone for over an hour with customer service calls in the past, having spent three hours in a furniture store, waiting six hours for cable service, and waiting nearly a day to get a Sunday paper on several occasions, I think it incredibly hypocritical of me or anyone to complain about a half hour to vote.  Really?  Seriously?  It's that big of a problem?  It's that tough?  The hardship is just too much to bear?
Please.

The study found a conservative bias at Fox, but also found that MSNBC was even more skewed toward the left. It points out the problems with both channels.

And in a related note, Ben Affleck's spoof of Keith Olbermann on Saturday Night Live was hilarious - and spot-on. ("How dare you, sir?!")

I look at it this way, Fox News is the McCain channel and MSNBC is the Obama channel.  If you want a channel that's neutral in its views, I'm not sure I can name one.

And apparently, Affleck gave one of the cue cards from that skit to Olbermann and signed it.

It only took me about five minutes to vote. Very easy.

Who knew The Black Panthers were still around? Looks more like two assholes trying to block a polling booth in Philly.
