It was a very good speach.  As I noted many times in this thread, John McCain seemed like a pretty decent guy.  I would have voted for him in 2000.  But not now and not against Obama.

Congrats to you Democrats - now you know how I felt in 2000! Well, December of 2000, anyway!

I won't like any of his policies, but I am happy to have a well-spoken President once again.

I will always remember this night.  I wish my grandmother had been here to see this.  She was a proud veteran who was, even when it was physically painful for her, an active participant in democracy.  I wish she could have seen this.  Obama is driving to Grant Park to give his speach now.  I am just overwhelmed this evening.

Congratulations to President Obama.

This is the end of an era... No more WASP...

I don't like him at all, and I don't see what others see in him, but hopefully he does a decent job. I don't have high hopes, however.

Thanks, Mark - to be honest - that was an issue for me; the fact that he is well-spoken.  I want our leader to be someone who can speak like a leader.  That's not a swipe at Bush - we haven't had a great speaker in the office since maybe Kennedy.  This is what I want in a leader - someone who is intellegent, can speak, can form an intellegent thought.  I am very excited about Obama as President.

--- and now we will have another impeachment...I was so hoping for a man with honor and integrity, well, I guess we'll have Joe Biden to step up after his resignation.  I'm cool with that.

'cause PhDs in physics mean you're a dumb-ass...????

Both Reagan and Carter were incredible speakers.

"Honor and integrity". Yeah, I'm sure you're going to miss GWB.

I'm sure you could have been less gracious.

I'm just not sure how.
