Bill, just curious on what basis you feel Obama lacks honor and integrity? What are you speculating he will be impeached for? I can understand someone disliking his policy ideas and thinking they will be bad for the country, but I don't see where there is basis for impugning his character or predicting he will commit an impeachable offense. That just seems out of left field.
I really hope Obama is wise enough to govern in a bipartisan manner. I remember four years ago when Bush was talking about having "political capital" to advance his highly partisan agenda after barely eking out a victory. He made no effort at all to reach out to the 48% that had voted against him, it was like "screw you guys, I won and you don't matter." I hope Obama is serious about putting the divisive politics of the past 15 years or so behind us.

Well, that's the thing Jason. If the Democrats hope to maintain the majority they were just granted, they'd better remember some advice - don't get cocky. Don't assume that you can steer the country entirely to the left and the American citizens will just fall in line. They can lose thie majority just as easily the next time around. What really did the Republicans in the past few years was they did not heed that advice.

Geez Didier, don't you work? :) I am in my classroom now, having the students work on handouts. Can't listen to speeches though. Will have to watch them when I get back home later this afternoon.

I really didn't think this would happen. But I'm extremely happy it did. McCain gave a great speech. It was good to see the old McCain reappear. Obama's speech was nicely done and inspirational. I look forward to the next chapter in our history.
Mike this was the best fifty bucks I've ever lost.

The Obamessiah will have a free pass either way you shake it. The complicit media will help to insulate him, and "It's Bush's fault" will be the mantra as the economy heads for the tank.
Also, those Pro-Life/Pro-Gun Dems that won house/senate elections in Republican leaning states will also have to pony up the votes, or they won't last long.
There's a girl I know who is a pro-life Christian and she told me that she doesn't care that Obama voted against giving medical care to babies who survive abortions. She says that he will insprire so much "hope" that people will have less abortions so really Obama is pro-life. That is the kind of bizzaro-world rationalizations you had going on for the guy. They were in love with him that much. That pretty much falls in line with Howard Stern's experiment of saying Obama was for all of McCain's positions but the Obama voters were still voting for him. They didn't care about the issues.
It's gonna be an interesting time though. There is so far no evidence
that Obama can be bipartisan. He has never crossed the aisle in his
whole career. He voted present on several controversial bills to avoid
having a record to be examined. The future is really totally up in the air.
