I went to sleep under a George W Bush presidency and today I woke up and the whole world had changed.  ahem.

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
My, oh my what a wonderful day!
Plenty of sunshine heading my way
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay

Mister Bluebird on my shoulder
It's the truth, it's actch'll
Ev'rything is satisfactch'll
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling, wonderful day!

I loved the speech he gave, I must say I let my 12 yr old son stay up to watch it and he will be going into school late. As I sat with him watching it, I was so touched that I was able to share this historical moment with him. We witnessed what our forefathers intended, when they wrote:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident: That all men are created equal;

"It's socialist countries, however, with the higher rates of abortion, and worse, infanticide of disabled children.  Strange that."

And I'm not advocating that we go to Socialism. To put it another way, the broke-ass economy GWB,  Wall Street, and the military-industrial complex gave us will only force more women to seek abortions.

I love that line about 'no blue states or red states, only the United States.'

In true bipartisanship, I want to see the President (that is so weird to acknowledge that!) appoint McCain ambassador to somewheres, or add him to the Cabinet or something. But Palin has to go.

I am anxious to listen to the radio pundits tomorrow. As I mentioned above Fox News is being uncharacteristically genial, I wonder how Limbaugh and Hannity will be?

Well done, America.

To quote the soon to be former president...

"MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!"

While I'm not happy with tonight's events, I will wish Obama the best and hope he's able to do a good job.  I am anxious to see over the next couple of months his choices for cabinet positions and if he will keep his promise of bipartisanship.

I did hear that Obama did talk to Dick Lugar, Senior Senator from Indiana about being Secretary of State. Lugar is a republican and a damn fine man.

Jeff, you beat me to it. I think that Knut's choice of song was unintentional, but funny. I do wish they would release the film again though. Hey, maybe with Obama in power now, the old-fashioned ideas about race will vanish and Disney will have the balls to release "Song of the South" without having to worry about Jackson and Sharpton and their ilk making their tired and outdated comments.

If we're going bipartisan, I'd love to see Obama tap Chuck Hagel for secretary of defense... he's a Republican I really respect.

one of his balls now?
