One of the major problems that I had with Hickman's Marvel work (and I had MANY problems with his Marvel work) is that his Marvel comics were boring as hell. All the characters did was stand around and talk for several issues. That was also one of my problems with Bendis's Marvel work as well, but Hickman took it to a whole other level of boring. To make matters worse, he would write an issue that not only had no action, but would basically be a recap of previous other issues but with the purpose of showing how all of the plot threads tie together. Of course a lot of long time elitist adult fans and critics praised his work since I guess that type of thing appealed to their now adult tastes.
