Spaceship Earth at EPCOT was very much in this vein with their ride.  But that was in 1989, and I assume they've changed it since then. Some things did come to pass, such as speaking on screens to one another.  Even in 1989 (when I saw it), that concept seemed so unique and far away, at least on the domestic, person-to-person way and now ... I was really introduced to this kind of art—beyond my comic reading—by a couple of books. YESTERDAY’S TOMORROWS and WASN’T THE FUTURE WONDERFUL.

I highly recommend tracking them down.

If I can make a parallel recommendation, I recently discovered this website, which shows a collection of artwork from “The Image Foundation” - who are described in their biography as providing “photography, creative retouching and CGI solutions for the advertising industry.” I’m curious to read others’ thoughts on it, so I’m going to refrain for now in sharing my thoughts on their work.

Well, anyway, my feeling is that whoever built AI art generators based a lot of their models on artwork from groups like The Image Foundation. I believe all the art on that page was created around 2015, but I think that if someone posted that art in the wild, folks would be lobbing accusations of "AI slop."
