It’s certainly looking likely that AI is bound to lose significant value considering the many knocks against it. It can do a lot of neat stuff - just not much at all in terms of real value. Though some people have a different understanding of what’s valuable. That’s the troubling thing about AI.

An interview with the "creator" of "Chloe": LINK
And to echo Evan's point in the original post - heaven help us when we start getting videos of this quality where the creator does NOT have good intentions.
A couple of months ago I started watching videos from the "The Price is Wrong" Instagram account - which were amusing AI videos of Bob Barker presenting contestants with ridiculous prizes, done really well. But starting in the past month or 2, it's really devolved into right-wing propaganda, and the "creator" isn't even bothering to maintain Barker's face and appearance anymore. I had enough this week and unfollowed the account.
That's probably the biggest concern - someone starting off as trustworthy and then slowly starting to let malicious inaccuracies start to creep in, with the viewers being none the wiser.

It’s the baseball bat analogy. Something intended for “good” can also be used to bash someone’s head in.

Which is why, incidentally, people aren't generally permitted to keep a baseball bat in their car at all times. If someone gets pulled over and a police officer sees a baseball bat, they inquire about the intent of the baseball bat.
The people who have the responsibility of policing AI are too busy getting rich from those who don't want them to police AI.

YEP. I'm getting to the point that I want to quit Facebook. It's becoming polluted with AI photos and videos from accounts that didn't have them before. I try reporting some, but Facebook offers no "AI Slop" option.
Now why would that be.....?
The ones that I really find odious are the ones that reanimate dead celebrities. Maybe I'm too sensitive, but I just find it incredibly tacky.

Disappointed to check out “her” visit to the Old West. Bit too Hollywood. First, it’s 1880 and there are tumbleweeds in the streets. Tumbleweeds are not native to North America. They originated in Russia, and arrived on our shores in 1880, so they would not have had time to spread that far west. Second, “she” enters a saloon through the swinging doors we all know so well—but those were not on the outside doors. They were used to partition off inner chambers.

Looking through the Titanic video I noticed that all four smoke stacks had smoke coming from them. Only three of the four worked, the fourth was a fake one.

If the channel is a successful one, perhaps the creator could afford to hire a few editors who might catch such mistakes - particularly since the goal is accuracy.

Just came across the Woodstock '69 short which sorta bugged me. I mean, it was a highly documented event all by itself - Martin Scorsese filmed 120 hours of footage!!!!

Vinny, the premise of the channel is to make history appealing to the younger generations who are "influencer" oriented.

I *did* get the sense that perhaps we were not the target audience - especially when "she" said in the Dinosaur video that this is millions of years before *Wi-Fi* of all things!!

Vinny,
I'm with you on the overabundance of crap on Facebook. I saw an AI-generated picture of Laurel and Hardy the other day...the likenesses were pretty good; it's too bad Stan had three legs!
