Does anybody know the source of this story that I said I "resented" Dave Cockrum returning to X-MEN when I departed? Most of these internet grumblings I can figure out, but on this one I come up cold. Since I have never made a comment one way or the other on this particular point, this can't even be standard fanboy inversion.

(By the way -- for the record, I did not and do not "resent" anything Dave ever did with the X-Men. I'm a big fan of his work, in fact, and have said so all along.)

It may be a twist from this comment made in the X-Men Companion
book.

Sanderson: How would you like your stint on The X-Men to be
remembered in the chronicles of comic history?

Byrne: Well, I'd like it to be remembered fondly. About the only thing
that's bothered me since I've left is some of the references to "Cockrums
back" that gave the impression that there was Cockrum's issues and then
there were three years of fill-ins and then Cockrum again.

You might have to work on your non answer answer in the future, perhaps a diplomacy course.  After all, wouldn't want anyone to misconstrue a straight forward answer.

Not aware of this story or of its source.  The only resentment I am aware of was on the part of Dave Cockrum himself when you took over from him on X-Men.

It takes a bit of creativity to get "resentment" from that comment, doesn't it?
