Thanos Kollias: " Stephane I think John changed Cyclops's eyes because he looked nothing like a "cyclops" with the two red dots, not because it was more realistic..."

LOL, I've posted here long enough to know that my friend, but yet I stand to the fact that the two red eyes were a part of Dave's style on the serie. John's choice to change it back, if we take into consideration that his own style was more realistic, only makes the two red eyes something even more typical of Dave's art in his first run. Something that for me was missing in his second run.

That Michael Golden piece is just breathtaking...he is an artist I didn't see much of before leaving comics - a few issues of Micronauts and that's it - but it looks like he REALLY took off

dit: And I remember there being a really positive buzz in fandom about the all new X-Men even before JB was given the gig...it comes as a real surprise to me to find out that the book was close to cancellation for much of its run - although after what happened to most fan favourites during the seventies, it shouldn't...

Teod

Wow! i almost made a comparison of the red eyes difference in the Cockrum/Byrne&all others with Iron Man's repulsors drawn by Michael Golden or Jim Starlin vs how it is drawn by Romita jr, Layton, & everybody else.

I only choose to not do so at the last second. And what is the first thing I see after posting? A Michael Golden drawing!
