I love brushes, though I am not very good with them. ••• How do you get to Carnegie Hall?

I have a cartoon saved by Ty Templeton about when he asked Joe Kubert what his favourite tool was for inking. Unfortunately, because of this board’s limits on image size, I can’t post it.
Why are image sizes limited here?

I don't recall seeing that Ty Templeton comic before. Thanks for the heads up!

Inking with a brush is probably the most zen experience I've got.

Because some people posted images without regard to how big they were.

It took me some time before I felt really comfortable using a brush. I love the pen brushes as I don't have to keep dipping in ink. As JB and JK mentioned, I use a plethora of tools - tech, brush, marker, gel pen (for whites), sponge. I also really like using a Q-tip to fill in blacks. The one tool I don't use much is a crowquill.

I felt my art went from 2D to 3D when I switched from technical pens to a brush as my main inking tool.

The Ty Templeton comic has me thinking that it would have been so neat to see JB ink a page with every panel done with a different tool.
My preference has been Brush > Pen > Sharpie .
I really did like the Pitt pens. I wish that I took more time to practice with them.

Some of my favorites of my own work were done entirely with brush. OMAC is a prime example.

Same for me, along with BATMAN 3D of the same era. I also loved the return to brush on the tail end of the WONDER WOMAN run. I have a hard time placing exactly when the switch from pen took place, but I'm guessing it's around #124.
