...under "Humorous Graphic Novels???"

•••

Not so very long ago bookstores routinely shelved anything comic book related in the “humor” section. Donald Duck? Humor. WATCHMEN? Humor. I made a habit of relocating some titles to more appropriate shelves, like Science Fiction or Fantasy.

I have for years credited Wendy and Richard Pini for helping to educate the masses. So much ELFQUEST material that did hot fit naturally into Humor trained the shelf-stockers to pay attention to content.

JB, there are a growing number of threads out there in FB where fans are stating that the pic of you is actually of the late Scottish Playright Byrne.

I am sure some are trolling, but there are some that just refuse to accept that you have changed over the years.

Edited for clarity.

People will believe anything they want to believe. Especially if they can get lathered up about it.

I am almost 76, an old man. That’s what I look like.

You are truly a generational talent JB.  I'm one of your fans who will always buy whatever you put out, because I know the joy I'll get from it will far exceed what I pay for it.

I'm beyond thankful to you for providing me with a lifetime of entertainment.

I think there are a lot of people who have never seen a pic of JB without glasses as well.

This makes me feel like a kid on Christmas Eve! I can't wait to get this book and I plan on ordering a second print as well!

To many, "cartoon" is synonymous with "humor" even of cartoon is such an elastic term and not used much in the comic BOOK world, but there's the word comic right there.

I also am perplexed by all those who got their copies already.  What did I do wrong?
