Back again to again make sure that you peons all know

With a name like "Philip Kennicott," there's probably no
chance this guy would ever be able to see past the silver
spoons lodged in his trachea to the understanding that
there is no inherent division between high art and low
art other than the ultimate patronage/purchaser, but this
particular line struck me as to how blind he truly is to
the ivory-tower fallacy that's been constructed around
it: "this billion-dollar vanity project".
Please point me at any museum of note that is
NOT a billion-dollar vanity project. You can like or not
like any art according to whatever aesthetic or social
parameters you choose; it's the third most subjective
thing about being human, after food and sex. But to base
part of your argument on, essentially, "the taste of
wealthy people defines art, just not THIS wealthy person"
is highly revealing, to say the least.

Certainly, Warhol hits closest to my own understanding of 'Art' with that quote. If nothing else, he had it worked out so well he was able to make fame and fortune off of that understanding - cynically exploiting or boldly trendsetting, depending on your own point of view.

Is an unmade bed in an untidy bedroom art? If so, does that
make 99% of teenagers artists?
As for illustration, i didn't appreciate Bill Sienkiewicz's
80's style initially, but some time around the Moon Knight
werewolf issues, i got it. His art is some of my favourite
illustration ever.

I'm really excited for this museum - it opened yesterday
and I can't wait to go. Besides the obvious appeal of
comic book original art, the collection also features
Star Wars models, Norman Rockwell, Frida Khalo, and
Banksy.
I am really curious to walk through it - it's in
Exposition Park, right next to where the Metro line runs.
I have been watching it go up and I love the space ship
design. Best of all is the green space on the roof. We
have a building with a green roof at work, and I don't
know why we it's not used more. Such a great idea.

Think about what’s under the grass, and you’ll soon realize why more builders don’t embrace this delightful concept. Lay sod on your roof, and without a lot of due diligence, you are basically inviting an invasion.

formaldehyde. Scientists all over the world went
'What????????'
