Here's my rendition of Black Nova, the fanzine character that Marv Wolfman later based Marvel's the Man Called Nova. I was originally just fooling around with the costume so I was sketching in blue ball point pen and then decided to ink it. It's just on plain paper so my weak inks are even further magnified with some bleeding. However, I was relatively pleased with it even though it's a pretty shaky line that I've put down. I've just got to quit using the technical pens for the details and start learning with a nib/dip pen.
Oh, for those that know the character, I realize his boot rockets(this character couldn't fly on his own) are missing.

My sketches don't end up being anything all that polished or finished by today's standards, I guess-- most of that stuff ends up on the finished sequential pages I'm working on. So here's a few sketches, for better or worse...
