It can't be said often enough how great Jim Warden is to deal with. In the mad world of comic art sales, Jim is a special and wonderful exception.
It's excellent to know the original art for ELSEWHEN will be sold through Jim someday!

Ugh. The Coolines guys are the worst of all art sellers. Joe is correct. They will raise their price every and any time you inquire about their catalog of art. I wish I'd have known these were up for sale and given them a better home.

The Coollines guys have also been known to "finish" art on their own before putting it up for sale so....yikes.

I’m confused. How did these end up there if there were so many people here who would have liked them but don’t appear to have known they were for sale?
If more come up for sale, might it be worth mentioning here that they are available?

The pages came up for sale because JB gave them to his art rep, Jim, before he went to the comic art con earlier this month. These pages are no longer part of the story JB is telling so they were released. While there are many JBF members that want a crack at purchasing pages, we might want to try to eliminate any slighted feelings about these particular pages. When the time comes, the art will be available. Let's not make life hard for the people involved with trying to feed rabid, art collector fans this new work. Just save your money and remember that anything that will be released will be released well after publication or online release. I shudder to think how many emails Jim has received in the last week about Elsewhen pages. =/

Jim Warden: Nathan: Click on the links provided to the pages and you will see that the pages are NOT priced on the Cool Lines site. Such is the business model for much of the artwork offered there!
--
As others have noted above, Coollines jacked up the prices! I'm excited to buy some of this art without the price gouging! Yikes!!

I agree with what others are posting -- Jim is a great guy and super easy to work with! JB couldn't have found a nicer art dealer.

James Woodcock: Before posting snarky comments, it might be worth actually reading back up the thread. On the previous page of this thread, i wrote:
Everyone Interested in ELSEWHEN Pages: JB will not be offering any of the ELSEWHEN pages that are part of the current continuity for sale until their publication status is certain. If JB decides to cut any additional pages from the story, at his discretion, these may be offered for sale.
Once the publication status of the ELSEWHEN pages is determined, and JB gives the green light, the pages will be offered for sale. I WILL post a new thread to the Forum once the pages are available.

Nathan: My point regarding the pricing of artwork on the Cool Lines site is that they do not "post" prices; as Joe and Paul pointed out, they basically treat the artwork sales as a "fishing expedition" by showing something that they have available, but not posting a "buy it now" price, rather they wait for someone to contact them and then provide a price (which is almost always much higher than current market value). The price quoted also may vary day-by-day! :)

I know JB does not want this thread to turn into a sales pitch, but I am very curious what the Forum readers who also collect artwork would be willing to pay for an ELSEWHEN page.
As background, a highly motivated collector (and super nice guy, who has already posted on this thread) sent me a private message before the April 14 Comic Art Con, in that message he made offers on 11 of the 20 pages JB posted in the "X-MEN: ELSEWHEN in Sequence" thread. Both of the pages Cool Lines bought from me were on his list and they paid more than double his offer for each page.
Additionally, three close friends who are also on this Forum, met with JB and I the day before the convention and were aware of the asking prices placed on the pages Cool Lines purchased. The Forum members had advance access to the pages and none of them purchased a page; this may be due to having seen 100+ pages of additional ELSEWHEN artwork and their sites were set on pages JB has not yet posted!
So, to those "collectors" who love to stir things up and/or bitch and moan about not being offered something first, it's time to actually "shit or get off the pot" and send me what you'd actually be willing to pay for the pages JB has shared on his Forum. My personal e-mail address is:
capshockeyfan@yahoo.com
I look forward to hearing from you.
