Woke this morning from a bizarre dream. I was at a bustling convention, with lots of people—including some I knew—in costume. I was sharing a table with a young and living Bernie Wrightson. Some retailer was trying to persuade us to sign bundles of books he’d prepared for the occasion.

Just as I woke up, tho, I realized I’d somehow “cast” Brad Pitt as Bernie!

I wonder who would have more fun with that, Freud or Jung :)

Not of much interest to either, I shouldn’t think.

Both my sister and I seem to have bizarre dreams most nights - not sure if it's genetic, or if we're just weird.

Example - she had a dream recently about the Nazi Chicken Hunters of 1777, where the Nazis hid in the backs of upholstered furniture before jumping out on unsuspecting victims (including chickens)

Separately, I had one where the world had been taken over by cyborgs, and I'd been nominated resistance leader for the human race - although the only 'weapons' I had to overthrow the cyborgs were a song I'd recorded in the Top 20 and a calendar which forecast the weather.

A dumb fan-thought about this hit me as, from my point of view, I heard about this dream where John Byrne and Bernie Wrightson were hanging out, then the dreamer woke up and it stuck! --he really was John Byrne!

speaking of dreams ...

i don't seem to have them as often anymore but ...

do you have "reruns" ? - one of the houses my parents owned seemed to have a very large awkwardly shaped bathroom. i would often have dreams where I and someone else (the supporting cast often changed, but never more than 2 others, sometimes friends, sometimes family, some celebrities) were locked in and we had to get out, find stuff to eat, stuff to pass the time, etc.

have you ever had "credits" ? - i remember having many 'adventure' style dreams that very often ended with credits. the usual 'directed by (me)' 'written by (me)' 'staring (whoever)' anybody else ever have this?

and an overall question, do you dream in color or b&w? - i have had specific dreams that i remember waking up and 'knowing' they were only b&w and there were others that were in color. i often recall very vivid green lights often when aliens were involved.

most dreams i remember these days seem to always involve a quest of some sort where i have to find someone or something, or get from place A to place B, or solve a 'problem'

anyone else have odd things (about their own dreams) to add ?

I had a recurring dream as a kid of a small gap in the bath
panel in my mom's bathroom, if i looked into the gap it
revealed a cellar below, lit by a single unshaded swinging
lightbulb. There was a demonic looking rabbit (Think Bugs
Bunny crossed with the rabbit from Donnie Darko) waving a
huge knife at me. The thing is, below the bathroom was the
kitchen, no cellar in our house. Plus this was decades
before Donnie Darko!
I have had a fair few really odd dreams over the years!

I still have a recurring dream in which I’m a kid ( 10-12 maybe) and the Lou
Ferrigno Hulk is pursuing me thru an old house. He’s smashing doors and
furniture and stuff. I don’t recall if he’s ever caught me.

I used to have reoccurring dreams as a child.
As an adult I immediately forget them when I
wake up. But I can still remember dreams I had
as a child.

I remember several dreams from my early teens, mostly because they featured a young blonde girl with whom I was madly in love. She stopped appearing around 1968.

Mostly, tho, what recurs in my dreams are themes. Usually, I'm trying to get home.

Important to note, these are not nightmares. I'm not lost. Just not where I want to be. Very often, I end up wandering into an enormous toy store, where I find something I want to buy---and then wake up.

Some have asked if I ever dream about he characters, and I do, but very very rarely. Maybe three (remembered) dreams in total. And, no, none of them have ever provided story ideas.

Because you started dating her, right?
