I first heard of 'Johnny Byrne'(the 'Space: 1999' writer mentioned above) in the early 80s, when he wrote a couple of 'Doctor Who' stories. Of course, I thought he was JB, dabbling in British TV as 'Johnny', when he had spare time between 'John'assignments for Marvel!

We received one letter to the SPACE:1999 comic declaring it was so good because a guy who wrote for the show was drawing it!

Since before the launch of Apple Books, I manually kept John Byrne’s artist page/artist profiles on iTunes, Apple Music, etc. as clean as possible, or to use the internal word—disambiguated.  I’ve since left Apple, and quite literally can only now mention that work.

The artist pages are all different now with all the separate media, like movies, books, or music, and I can’t speak to any current needs or disarray. Anyways, all of that work was my quiet way of thanking JB, or Jack Kirby, for all the years of entertainment, thanks!

Closest thing I've got: Used to have a P.O. Box, and once got a piece of important mail for a Brian Floyd who owned a construction company that was apparently in another city. I made sure the post office knew the mail wasn't for me, yet got another piece of mail for the same person a few weeks later. Got that cleared up, and never received another piece of mail meant for him in the two years or so that I still had the P.O. Boc afterward.

The mail was for a Brian O. Floyd. Brian is actually my middle name.

Of course "John" is a popular name, but I'm surprised "Byrne", especially with the spelling, is seen so much.
My names, with lots of variations comes up a lot, and has resulted in me receiving some strange phone calls until I convince the person I'm not who they want to talk to. But I think only Ryan Gosling has played my namesake on screen.

I know there was an intentional "John Byrne" on Law & Order, but has there ever been one that wasn't honoring you?

As I recall JB pointing out in the past, "Byrne" is a pretty common name in the UK.

Seventh most common in Ireland. Second in Dublin.
