These are from the new Barbie DC collection. One things for sure, Mattel made these to stay in their boxes. Ive never had a harder time removing a toy for its package as I had with these two!

Most toy manufacturers do that these days. Last week for his birthday, my grandson was given a series of toys that were near impossible to open without the assistance of power tools. Bands, wire ties, hermetically sealed nuclear plastic....it's a chore to open a toy package these days.

Clint, that Herman is....awesome! I wish I didn't have holes in my pockets.
Bill, nice group shot of Alpha Flight. I snagged the entire series on clearance a few years ago from KayBee Toys and they're hanging on the garage wall with all the other toys. I open some of my stuff for display but how could I take the figures out when JB's artwork decorated the packaging. Too nice all in one piece. Besides, my days of cardboard box secret headquarters are far behind me so the Alpha Flight gang are just for lookin'.
Steve, nice Supergirl and Batgirl. Those look very nice out of the packaging. Wasn't particularly excited about them on first glance. Good call by you.
I'm a fan of Selma Blair and she does seem like she could portray the very Power Girl inspired future Supergirl. I actually got to meet her for about a nanosecond at the LA Wizard show a few years ago. It was just before the first Hellboy movie was to be released. Unfortunately for the memory, I didn't really know who she was at that point in time. I'd heard her name but wasn't a particular fan. Since then, I've enjoyed a lot of her movies and wish the timing could have been reversed.
It's actually kind of cool the way things worked out at that show for me. Dark Horse was giving away official movie posters and had a good supply of the Drew Strewzan alternate painted version which I happily snagged. Then, a friend of the guy who's booth I was helping at came by and offered his winning lottery ticket to anyone who wanted to meet the Hellboy panel because he couldn't go. Ron Perlman, Mike Mignola, Selma Blair and Guillermo del Toro were all signing autographs for everyone with a winning ticket. It was a cattle call and they wound up being late to the panel but they eventually got everyone through the line. So, for free, I got my poster signed by all four of them and even got Ron Perlman and Mike Mignola to take pause when they were signing. They seemed actually appreciative that I offered thanks and praise for their work. Of course, I had them personalize their autographs to me so they would know my poster wasn't going up on eBay. Too bad it hasn't gone up on the wall yet. Too many posters, not enough money for frames or wallspace.
