Thing about sexuality, is that the moral conflict probably is that some look at it as entertainment or fun.. culture. In that view, its just about taste. And some see it as the obligation to procreate. Regardless of the actual reality, where gays are just simply gay,(why fuzz about it? Its just the way it is) the overarching debate probably dont care about reality. Moral authority only visit reality on the odd occasion.

A lot of the late 60s/early 70s feminism was also a reaction to the 60s counter-cultural movement.  Many women were turned off that they assisted in the movement but too many men wanted them as earth mothers in the kitchen baking bread.  In other words, no real change to what was going on in mainstream society.

BTW - From time to time I have found myself explaining to some people that the “homo” in “homosexual” is not the same as the “homo” in homo sapien”.

In the latter instance the word has a Latin origin, and means “man”. In the case of homosexual, the root word is Greek, and means “the same”. (Same use as in “homogenize”.)

Think about it. If the homo in homosexual meant man, straight women would be homosexuals.

(It’s this confusion, I am convinced, that leads to the phrase “lesbians and Gay men”, instead of just using the all encompassing term “homosexuals”.)
