Jeremy, I dig lots!
I didn't die guys, I've been working more and drawing less, which is a crime.
I drew a picture of/for a friend today though...

Here's a pretty obscure character--Captain Assyria. He was in a New Warriors issue dealing with an alternate future storyline.

Captain Assyria? As in "Assyrian Empire". The only Assyria I know of is the ancient kingdom which conquered much of Mesopotamia a couple of times before ending up getting wiped out by an alliance of Medes (an Iranian kingdom which established an empire of its own eventually overthrown and absorbed by the classical Persians) and Scythians (nomadic tribes of what is now the Ukraine and southern Russia that specialized as light cavalry and mounted archers).
Lots of good stuff up here, BTW. Especially from Mikael, Jeremy and Vladimir.
I'd have probably posted links to a few images from my DeviantART.com gallery, but I'll just direct you to the following address:

Captain Assyria? As in "Assyrian Empire". ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------- That would be my guess but I don't really remember the story that well. I just thought it would be an interesting exercise to draw a Captain America variation.

Gil, JT, Carmen, and William-- Thanks, it's appreciated! And Gil, thank you very much. Mike was one of the many, many influences on the artist I am today-- although I'd like to think it has more Paul Smith or Eisner himself in the piece, I can definitely see where you're coming from there.
