Mikael: That Green Arrow was great. Like Alan Davis improving upon Mike Grell's costume.

Dave: That character reminds me a bit of Bulleteer.  Love your sketches. Especially the last one, when she's lost her arm, that's absolutely shocking. As a horror movie fan I can only saw well done, sir. Very well done.

And now my new sketch:

Superman's Song led to Kryptonite getting stuck in my head. Thus we have
this for tonight's song/sketch:

Dave, not really a character exactly, just an amalgamation meant to represent three different plays. One play is a riff on David Bowie's Space Oddity (giving the facial structure, the lightning bolt and the setting), another is about a self-help group for Gods (including Jesus, Lugh, and Thor, giving me the pose, the irish cross and the hammer pendant) and the third play is about an android who believes he is God which gave me the theme for the piece.

I'm just glad the whole looked... reasonably coherent given the disparate elements.

Thanks Arc - glad you like em. You're totally right, she looks just like the
Bulleteer with the pointy headpiece! I'm going to have to change that! I've
never read Bulleteer but it looks like it might be pretty good.
I'm glad that image with her arm blown off is sufficiently shocking - that
is what I was aiming for. Its a study for a scene in the sci-fi story I'm
writing. Not a horror story but this scene should be shocking and
horrifying.
Your drawing is great! These poses you're drawing are hard to draw! Are
you using photos as reference? You have a very nice line quality.

Steve - Bowie Christ Egomaniacal Android! Sweet! These plays all sound
cool! What are the titles?

Bill - very nice Clark and Superman - nice work on the planets - every
time I see your drawings I want to run out and get some of those pens.

I'd never heard of this Bulleteer character before but I looked her up and I don't think you have to worry too much about any similarity, Dave. For one thing, your character's headpiece faces backward, not straight up. Secondly, the respective bust sizes are wildly different (perhaps she should be called "Boob-eteer").

You might be right Paulo, thanks - I had never heard of Bulleteer either, but
they are similar enough to evoke a comparison apparently, even with the
differences you mentioned. Different outfit too. Not that my character really
has an outfit yet - generic bodysuit until I figure it out. I know now what its
NOT going to look like!

Like I said before it's an intense image, which means that it's hard to forget (and that's always a good thing when telling stories, right?). By the way, I never said your character looked exactly like Bulleteer, just that there were a few things in common .

Thank you a lot for your compliments. To answer your question I always use all the extra help I can get.

In fact, for this sketch I asked a few of my friends to "enact" it for me and I always use myself as a model; no, I'm just kidding.
