So now he’s having a pop about the Chagos islands. As the Conservatives
have been doing in the UK.
Let’s be clear - the negotiations were started by the Cons, so they can shut
up
And the sale was supported by Trump - so he can shut up

Don’t try to use that, as an excuse for what you’re doing now.

Keir Starmer gives a speech standing up to him and still the UK media, the Tories, and every man and his dog jump on Starmer.

Is this the case that we are selling out our duly elected PM out and the Chagos Islands are firing up all the wankers on social media, Reform, the Tories and the BBC as well.

I despair at the lack of critical thinking or people failing to grasp what is going on.

In some ways if Cameron hadn't been so arrogant thinking Brexit wouldn't go through putting it to a vote has caused a lot of this.

That said, I wonder what happens when a certain person sees Macron's speech in Davos.

Starter’s speech yesterday was really good. If he and the others hold their
nerve, the EU don’t renew the tariff discount, he just might have to TACO

I was watching Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart's podcast earlier and they both think that if Europe, the UK and Canada keep pushing back he will still try to bully and intimidate but will back off eventually, but come up with some excuse to save face. They see this as an idea that he has put in his head that he doesn't understand that has only intensified as a temper tantrum over the Nobel Peace Prize.

To use a quote he uses a lot "We'll see..."

Indeed.
He does seem to be a dog with a bone, and the ratchet increase since
Venezuela is weird.
Although I will note that the second he invaded there, I did post that
Greenland would be next. So I could see this coming.

It's ironic that he criticises the U.K. for "giving" Chagos
away, but is throwing a tantrum because Denmark won't give
him Greenland.

He was in full support of the Chagos deal 11 months ago.

This was despite being lobbied by Nigel Farage and others to veto the deal, and the then foreign secretary David Lammy suggesting that if Trump opposed it, they would not go ahead with the handover.

It was backed up later by a formal agreement from Marco Rubio in May, and that paved the way for Sir Keir to get the Chagos deal done.

He is just lashing out over the pushback on Greenland and is using the Chagos Islands as a way to attack his "closest" ally the UK. Egged on by Farage and others.

I would hate to be Rubio if he manages to see the Chagos statement again.

Here's a thought.
Putin is bombing the crap out of Kiev at the moment.
What if trump says something along the lines of 'Give me
Greenland or I pull out of Ukraine'?

I could see that being his next step.
