My god, what a twat.

The worst thing you did to him, JB, was that you made him cut in front of the line to see the lady and that made him feel bad. That was pure evil on your part, JB, especially the mind-control aspect.

JB

Constance.

Yes. Classy lady. Meet her again at Dallas Fan Expo the next year. I can't say enough good things about her.

Those silver and gold Sharpies are so gross and unreliable compared to the regular ink pens. Imagine the pants he would have shit if one of those metallic markers leaked on his precious graded comics.

JB - didn’t you also used to hit up book stores around the conventions and sign graphic novels off the shelf for fans to discover later on?

Having read about as much of that post as I could, I might suggest moving the quotes for the thread title from “experience” to “fan”.

Oddly, I feel kind of sorry for the guy. His mindset is suffocating to even read about for a minute or two. I can’t imagine how debilitating it must be to think that way all of the time.

I have only been to one convention, back in the spring of 1980. I still have my X-Men 137 signed by Chris Claremont and my Conan #113 signed by Roy Thomas. I politely waited in line with my one comic book and thanked the author after he signed. Both smiled and said you're welcome.
The guy behind me in the Roy Thomas lineup then proceeded to plop down EVERY back issue of Conan. 1 to 113 and demanded Roy Thomas sign every one. Mr. Thomas looked pretty pissed and told the guy no, and pointed to all the people behind him. The guy stormed off in a huff. I imagine he bitched to all his friends what a jerk Roy Thomas was to him.
