This is part of the climactic battle where things suddenly took an unexpected turn and we ended up with a rather unlikely hero to this tale!

The climax to this story is what makes this project/experiment so cool...there's no way I would've come up with the surprise plot twist here where Fang runs off, gets a giant cheetah robot and helps save Cheetah Man!

Sounds like Joe's having fun with that project.  I used to do stuff like that.  (If only I saved the few completed comics that I produced.)

A portion of my latest project:

I think I'm starting to get a better handle on how to draw a human figure with correct proportions.  Now, if only I can make this translate well in the inking stage.

For comparison with the pencil lines above, I'm presenting a clip of the same part of the drawing inked earlier this morning (before I set out for work):

I'm finding what I prefer to use in certain parts of the inking phase, and what I may not put into frequent use here.  The Hunt #104 did a fair job with the lady's face, but I still prefer the Hunt #102 Crowquill for smaller details like this.  You'll find the latter in some of the shading on the blanket in her right hand.

For the general outline of her figure and the blanket, I found that an old large sketch nib still worked.  I tried to use a Cotman III #000 brush, but found that my coordination isn't quite strong enough to get down to this scale in brushwork, so that got used for filling in the black areas on her hair instead.  Being of the Vince Coletta school of "thousand lines" inking, I simply went over parts of a stroke to get a thicker line.

One thing that did satisfy me about this was my not getting any noticeable "feathering" in my pen strokes on this page.  Perhaps it was a still-good piece of Bristol board I was inking today.

I took a break from the big project to do a little doodling...

At this point, I have at least four more partially filled-in sketchbook scrap pages that I want to finish, and a few ideas floating around in my head.  As well as the need for more practice to see if I can get around this habit of mine of drawing the same character many times over!

In starting the latest project, I ran into that old bug-a-boo of mine...

I was trying to come up with a more complex pose for this one (propped up on one elbow, gazing down at an "iPad" device on the matress in front of her), when I looked again after I went over her head with bolder strokes...

AAAAARRRRRRRGH! - drew the head and neck too small, and perhaps a little off-center.

It may well be back to scratch for this one.  Perhaps a little bit of time spent practicing the pose in loose sketches will help, too.
