One of the fun things about drawing in ink is that you can find ways to screw up even if you're extra careful about how you move that pen across the page.  (Note the little smear and spattering on the character on the left end of the grid.)

Something I've been toying with today. I've never drawn Antman before. That helmet it actually kind of fun.

@Steve Musgrave - Like the style you've used here. Looks like it was done in Illustrator.

@Gil Dowling: Thanks! I try to give the most amount of information in as few lines as possible. Never been a big fan of the "hatch marks = detail" school of drawing (e.g. Jim Lee or Todd McFarlane). It is Illustrator. It started as a pencil drawing but I scanned it into Illustrator to "ink" it. Nerve damage in my hand keeps me from traditionally inking.

NOTE: Images that break the rules of the forum will be removed from this thread.  This includes self promotion of art services, and it also includes images that promote a company or service.

If I continue to have to prune this thread, I will lock it down.  That would be very unfortunate as we have seen some really fantastic work by the forum members here.

This is the final warning.

Jeez.
It's not for me, bro.
I just drew it.
My condolences.
Didn't make a DIME.
It's for handicapped dogs.
I kid you not.

Somehow, I started having a bit of a Kirby vibe when I sketched this guy last week...

A work in progress.  I'm skipping the full pencils phase of this, and going straight to the pens with this, it being a "cleaning of the pipes" action for me.  The theme of "indian summer" just kept nagging me.

The original pencil scan would've been too light for some to see here, so I darkened it just a bit using the histogram adjustment tool in the paintshop program.  The final form of the piece will be a printout of the inked linework that gets colored using the new set of markers that I brought this past weekend.

A portrait of Bruce Lee I did earlier this year.

This was done on a Mac Book Pro with a Wacom Cintiq monitor. The software program used was Manga Studio Ex 4.

Looks really good!

I've thought about getting Manga Studio, but I want to pay off my new Prismacolor art markers before I commit to that.  It looks pretty good.  Anything that saves me the trouble of cutting and pasting screen tints, cleaning up spilled ink or watercolor dyes, or eliminates the step of erasing pencils after waiting for the ink to dry is technology put to good use.
