Obviously same for me, but since Pritzker isn’t running for either and seems like he’s setting up an early run for the presidency I figured I might as well start listening to what he has to say.

The Amazon thing is really weird for me in the UK. Well, to be honest, the whole sales tax thing in the USA is weird to me.
In the UK, the price we see is the price you pay, including taxes. With Amazon, you see the tax broken out. If I order from America, I see the cost, the tax and the import duties all listed separately, with a total including all those as well.
I first realised America doesn’t show taxes in a price with the Razor Crest Haslab - I was complaining how the UK was paying the same figure in pounds as America was paying in dollars. Someone explained the taxes would be added on. Confused the heck out of me.
America seems adverse to showing taxes - why is that please?

Well, the UK have just had some council elections. Bar far the winner was Reform - Nigel Farage’s party. So looks like the UK has decided to follow the USA, learn nothing from Brexit, blame all our troubles on foreigners, non-whites and females and deny climate change. My one hope is that this means we have a few years before the next election to see that they really are racist twats and are incapable of finding their way out of a paper bag. My worry is that, as with Trump, people won’t care and still vote them in. Farage for PM.

It seems Trump is going to give money - taxpayers' money - to Ashli Babbitt's family.
She is a traitor, not a martyr.

Ugh. I'm not even going to bother googling. I don't want to know more.

$90 mil price tag of taxpayer money (under represented as I believe it will cost at least $200 mil) to “celebrate” Trump’s birthday with a military parade the likes of which we haven’t seen since the end of WWII and is typically associated with dictatorships like Russia, China, North Korea and certain South American countries. Excluding all members of the military from National Observance by narrowing their holiday (Veteran’s Day) to just WWI vets. It’s an absurd lurch to the right, often a token or performative nod to things no one in this admin knows anything about. It’s why, when poll numbers are sinking like a stone, they go out of their way to throw red meat to the faithful. Sad and pathetic.

As an Illinoisan, I'm very proud that Pritzker is my governor and I truly hopes he runs for the Presidency. I've lived in Illinois the vast majority of my life and since I was old enough to understand politics, I've never had a governor who I was proud of, ever. I know a lot of his detractors have tried their best to use his wealth against him and claimed he was out of touch with "the common man", but it backfired.
Whatever office he's running for, I'll vote for him. Period.

Who among us has seen Trump’s interview with ABC about his first 100 days? Not just the snippets, but the full interview? Here it is:
It’s unhinged. It’s batshit crazy. Full disclosure, I’m normally someone who talks to themself but recognizing that, I still talked to myself throughout. I consistently fact checked in real time his fantastical defense of abhorrent positions. Yes, terrible, but a must watch.

A neat project would be a transcript of that interview with every lie noted and a bracketed fact check (including source{s}) following the lie. I'm thinking it would probably come in at something approximately the size of the rough draft of Stephen King's 'The Stand'.

One positive from Trump's recent activities/behaviour is that it's helped wipe the conservatives off the map in both the Canadian and Australian elections.
