YouTubeIn fact, lots of folk have debunked the story of the Flood—but most of them make the same mistake: they try to approach the story from a rational, natural perspective. They point to the scientific impossibility of the tale. But they overlook one thing: this is a story of miracles. Of the direct involvement and intervention of God Almighty. God who can make ANYTHING happen. Literally ANYTHING. Just by thinking it. Don’t worry. I haven’t gone over to the dark side. (Or light side, if you prefer—tho this as a seriously DARK story. All those drowned children and puppies.) As an atheist, I am quick to point out that one cannot argue science against religion. Religion trumps (ahem) science at every turn. Because it has no rules. Kangaroos on the Ark? No problem, if God wants them there. (And it’s both funny and sad to see the believers invoke science to explain themselves. Land bridges? Pshaw!!) But if we want to debunk the story of the Flood—a waste of time, imho—we don’t need science. We need only the story itself. Start with the fact that no mention is made of “Mount Arrarat” and go from there. Fairy tales always unravel when we LOOK at them.
