I have seen multiple messages on Twitter criticizing the new Supergirl trailer because she identifies Superman as "Clark" instead of "Kal" in a private setting. Seriously?

It was Julie Swartz who started pushing the heavy sci-fi elements, during his tenure as editor. The whole vision of Superman as a "stranger in a strange land".

As if a lifetime on Earth, raised among humans, with human parents, would not have buffed away most of his Krytonian "edges". When the "Great Rao!" nonsense started, after my time as a regular reader, I took deep offense on behalf of Ma and Pa Kent.

Clark is his name! The fact that Supergirl uses it in the movie is actually a plus in my book.

I always felt like the odd man out when so many referred to Clark Kent as Superman's 'disguise' To me, it was the other way around.

There was a story when I was a kid where Superman was testifying in court, under oath, and one of the lawyers asked him to write his real name on a blackboard.

He wrote Kal-El!

It was the first time I had been told he didn’t think of Clark as real.
