Every time I watch that episode, it makes me laugh, but it also brings sadness because it's Jerry Orbach's last appearance on the show.

The day after that episode aired there was someone on eBay trying to sell a tattered issue of IRON FIST for an exorbitant sum because I was dead.

Evidently, he had only heard of my demise, and didn’t know it was fiction.

Yeah, that episode is bittersweet for me for that reason. (It was also my last episode of L&O.)
The original cut ended with a pan down to Briscoe's desk placard. It was a night little memorial, I thought, but Dick Wolf cut it.

I admit that I was hoping for live action, but I'm still excited about an animated Firefly, and I have confidence that you'll be able to do it justice.
So good luck again, Marc!
