I notice Zeck signed his signature differently than usual.

Picked this up from Joe Jusko, he has been doing the cover for the John
Carter/Warlord of Mars comic book for Dynamite. This was done for Warlord
of Mars #16. I love the use of colour and the design reminds me of some
60's sci-fi paperback books.

After a period with no new additions to my collection, I found myself hitting the jackpot with 3 new pieces, the first two coming from Heritage auctions and posted today.... Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez has always been DC for me and I was thrilled to acquire a page that I had expected to be permanantly out of my reach, since the art dealer who had possessed it was added to my "Shady, Do NOT Buy From" list..... This page is a beaut and Jonah Hex #4, page 15 brings the total number of pages I own from this issue to 5, with a handful of sequentials... fun stuff!

The second auction win from Heritage involved a page from one of the most creepy and memorable stories from my childhood. When Carrion first made the scene in the late 1970's, it further reinforced my love for the early issues of Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man. While this page doesn't have Spidey present, it is one of the most powerful depictions of Carrion's monstrousity and cruelty. Jim Mooney and Frank Springer's work here is incredible and I was blown away at how much moreso it is up close and at 11x17".
