Robert- This craze known as "sketch cards" has turned into an odd little industry/subculture for artists (and hobbyists). Many try to turn them into little perfect illustrations and sell them for lot's of money.

If all you are looking for at a convention is a signed doodle on a card, you might get that for free. Best way is to just ask for an autograph on the card and the artist might do a quick doodle, if they have time. Ask for a doodle or drawing, and you'll more than likely have to pay for it.

David- don't worry... it won't be long before the American mentality ruins things for you... :)

Dave, thanks, you're right about the whole sub-culture thing. To clarify though, I'm looking to sell my own sketch cards, and even five dollars sounded like a lot of money for one. I mean I do want to make money but I want to be as fair as possible to both myself and the customer.

Well, official Sketch Cards (from sets) are crazy as they fall under "card collectors" territory... and those guys are nuts...

Good luck! :)

Wow. That's a great Shaman. The colours really work in watercolour.

Thanks, guys!

Just arrived, a new eBay pick up.  I'm not a big DC fan, but c'mon, it's Starfire by George Perez.  11x17
