I'm on my way offline after spending wayyyy too much time scanning
and converting artwork images to the computer and into jpeg format,
but thought that I'd post my Kitson stuff. Barrty is a fun guy and
extremely engaging to talk with. I'm very glad to have gotten to know
him on a level outside of his art. This past weekend allowed me to
grab his prelim work for a Marvel Apes cover. I'm a sucker for both
the topic of primates as well as dynamic composition. The two pieces
provide both.

Barry also provided me with what is arguably the most dynamic set-up figure yet for the latest addition to my jam pieces. Eric Powell agreed to do BiBeast, while Herb Trimpe added Abombination. The piece is coming along extremely nicely.

Wonderful pick-ups, Paul and Fred.  What is next fro the Hulk jam piece, Fred? A lotta room at the top; enough for the U-Foes, maybe ;-)?

With only a few exceptions, any artist that I ask to add to the piece is
encouraged to use his character of choice. Eric is an exception.
Because his style is so distinct, when he comes to mind for a piece, I
come up with a villain that I think really suits his sensibilities. The
Batman Jam has Eric's take on the Mad Hatter.

That is a very good Hulk by Kitson. The price is even better!

Incredibly awesome piece Ari!

Next up is a commission I picked up at the show, done beforehand, by Dave Wachter. I've been impressed by Dave as an artist from the first time that I saw his work at a Reading, PA show. Since that time, I've enjoyed getting to know him a bit as a person as well as having the good fortune to pick up a handful of commissions. I'm not sure whether the interactions and the previous commissions were a factor, but when I approached Dave to do a piece for the Ben Grimm's Poker Game Gallery, he agreed to my request of "Ben, Logan, Spider-Man and 2-3 characters of your choice"........ adding a dozen additional characters, multiple stories (Including pathos-filled as well as humorous depictions), plus a detailed background that showcased many historical Marvel moments in the form of framed photos along the walls of the bar. Trust me, a great deal of the intricacies on the page are lost in the scan. *Not even including a few of the "photos" that were cut off in the scanning process (Spider-Man's wedding, the Vision & Scarlet Witch, Power Man & Iron Fist).... my mind is blown away by how artists are continually stepping up and surpassing my expectations with these pieces!

Some simply outstanding art posted here recently. Thanks everyone for sharing!
Paul & Jason were giving me grief at Baltimore this past weekend for not posting anything recently, so here goes. First, my Hero membership sketchcard from this year. Batman by Alan Kupperberg.
