Back in the mid 1970's I had planned to self publish a book I had written called "The Green Princess."  I commissioned a number of comic book artists of the time to draw illustrations for the book, including Curt Swan, Frank Brunner, Paul Gulacy, Val Mayerik, Alex Toth and others (including a nice Neal Adams convention drawing).  But things changed when I got married, the book was never published and the art was sold many years ago.
I had paid 3 other artists who never delivered, one of them was Michael Nasser (now Netzer).  I found his website a couple years ago and wrote to him about the situation from 35 years ago.  He agreed to do a drawing for me, and this is what showed up.

Forgot to mention the Boris Vallejo painting, which I published as a poster.

Holy! Thirty-five years?!?  That has to be some sort of record for comic related art.  My personal record will be 5 years, hitting next week, by our own Glenn Brown. Beautiful results, at least.

Nice page Sebastien.  I miss Frenz' Thor work.
Wonderful Perez piece.  Love his work.  I managed to get on his pre-con list for Boston next year.

A few months ago George Perez posted on his Facebook page he was attending the Cincinnati Comic Expo and was taking pre-commission orders, I put in for one but never heard back from him and I just assumed that he had met his quota. Weeks later I recieved a message from George saying that somehow my message to him was sent to a different folder in his account and that he felt that it was unfair that this happened ( although he was booked up for that show) and he would work me in at the last minute..........what a great guy. I couldn't be more pleased from what I picked up today, The Mighty Thor. It was a pleasure to meet such a gentleman and class act as George Perez.

Getting a George Perez commission can only be topped by meeting the man himself. I agree, he's a class act.

Home from a very fun and productive Cincinnati Comic Expo weekend!

Geof Darrow, who I was very happy to meet, was kind enough to include a little Nixon sketch on the interior of my HARD BOILED book when he signed it:
