I don't know exactly why, but Davis' rendering of Kitty's
face in that commission really makes me think of Mike
Grell's work.

I just received my commission for Jim Strenako.  Its a head shot of Nick Fury.  It made my wife "swoon" when she saw it.  He was great to work with, and emailed about were I was on the list, and when he sent it out.  It took 3 weeks, from sending payment to getting the finished art.  He was really easy to work with, and the e-mails were nice.

Can you elaborate about the board being different?

++

Wilson, the bristol sheets of my first 4 commissions seems a bit heavier than "regular" comic boards. But that could just be due to the size. The Mysterio commission is thicker and a heavier weight of bristol so that it is very stiff. The board on the latest commission is much stronger as a result.

••

I often experiment with different kinds of boards/paper for the commissions. Sometimes it comes down to what kind of stock is available at the art supply store when I go shopping. I figure, as long as it's durable (ie, acid-free, among other things) it really doesn't matter how heavy it is, since these pieces are going to end up framed or in portfolios.

@Eric, why aren't those babies framed? Awesome commissions.

Another nice page, Lloyd.

Lloyd, as usual, nice page. =)

Framing is in the works for my commissions. I need to finish my room downstairs before I have anyplace to hang them so framing wasn't a priority. That room we filmed in needs its crown molding, but I have spent a good part of the summer painting the house. That wall with the stripes to my right was tedious, but I love the affect.

I do it on my computer with Photoscape. It's free, think I got it from Cnet.com. I do all my photo editing with it (which isn't a lot, but it works for me).

I did hint at something months ago... not sure what page that was on...?

A few months after I sent in the request, I was told the commission could not be completed.
