The picture posted of the Shadow by Steve Ogden above is pretty wonderful. Love the smoke and the use of light and shadow.

Thanks, Peter. Stuart Sayger really did a great job on that. Stuart used chalk for that effect.

Well, I paid for it and it ships out on Monday so I guess I'm officially the owner of a Jack Kirby page! Forever People 11, page 21:
I've been continuously in search for the right page at the right price and it turns out this was it! The dealer came down in price a little for me and worked out a payment that was acceptable for both of us and here we are...I'm sure it won't really sink in until it arrives! I love the New Gods and think this page has lots of great Kirbyness to it (the krackle for example) and of course close ups of Darkseid and Desaad helped my decision a lot!

Nice page, Joe!
That one's got a nice Kirby cross-section - the crackle, the big sound effect, the speed lines... oh, and Darkseid and Desaad are a nice bonus...

I just realized, in 2011 I added the first examples of Neal Adams, Joe Kubert and now Jack Kirby to my art collection! That's a good year!
