Since Dave played with transplanting that Darkseid head, I couldn't help but think it was super imposed.....

Lloyd picks up another fine page.
Wow, Joe. Those pages are huge! If you need them framed, just send it my way, it'll get done yesterday.

The first of the two recent DAN DARE purchases arrived today. Here t'is, in the portfolio, alongside the actual page from the "bound volume" I made when I was a kid.

Kirby was working big on these SUPER POWERS pages!•• From what I've heard, Jack didn't understand that the printed page layouts he'd been given were for FULL BLEED pages, so he worked out to the "edge" as usual.

JB, is it a coincidence that all these Dan Dare pages are coming to be available at the same time? (Beautiful picture, by the way -- "Child is Father to the Man")

JB, is it a coincidence that all these Dan Dare pages are coming to be available at the same time?•• Dunno. Several of them, I believe, have been in the possession of a single collector. Perhaps he has decided to "share the wealth" for some reason. The big coincidence, I guess, would be that they're all (or many of them) from the "Project Nimbus" story. Makes me wonder how many pages of that serial still survive. It ran 16 weeks, 2 pages per. Given that I recently acquired ALL the surviving pages (or so I'm told) of the original DANGER UNLIMITED series (only 4) it makes me wonder about the fate of so much of the art of that period.

I would say that its out there somewhere. Maybe some of it isn't in the best shape but someone has it in an attic or a portfolio. Good stuff always has a way of surviving. I hope you find them ;)
