Michael: And the cover to the Man of Steel TPB as well!

---

AWC #50 and NAMOR were honestly meant to match. There's a bookend "theme"...!

They weren't, actually. If I had done them deliberately as a "pair", I would have had one of the figures facing the other way.

I suppose this could be classed as original art.

Just received the Remarqued Edition of John Romita's Spider-Man Artist
Edition.

I asked if they had a Mary Jane available and they did. This book is now
cooler than cool.

Sorry about the fuzziness of the pics. Unable to scan the book.

A close up.

It has been a good week.

She would make a good MJ.

But she's not bad as Gwen either.

Maybe in this day of practically seamless SFX, she could play both in a
future film should the need arise. ;-)

I know she's a natural blonde, but she falls into the Lauren Holly category and works SO MUCH BETTER as a redhead.

I love that Simpson-ized Marvel Team-Up cover at the top of the page!

(oh wait...)

Back on topic...Chris, of course that counts as original art!  What else would it be?  Also, I'm surprised you were able to request MJ.  I emailed and got no responses indicating I had any say in what sketch I received.  I tried three different email addresses at IDW.  Oh well, I'm happy with my Spidey head sketch!

Joe,

I think at first you couldn't put in an requests, but I was looking through the
IDW store and just clicked on the page (hoping it would say that they'd
shipped) and it had in the blurb that requests could be made, and they
would see what was available. I sent an email and got a reply about a day
later.

Part of me wanted to be surprised, another part wanted a Spider-Man, but
the juvenile part of me got control and asked for Mary Jane. As she's my
biggest fictional crush and she was given life by Mr Romita, it seem like the
only choice.
