Good thing comes in threes, along with the Fantasia art I just received these two pieces. I have been a fan of Al Williamson for a long time from his Secret Agent Agent Corrigan work to inking John Buscema on Wolverine (and pretty much most everyone else in the 80s) and of course his Flash Gordon work in the 1960's. I had seen a few of the watercolours of Flash and the Space Pirate but never able to land either until today. Here is a little background on the two pieces, as Ray C posted on "The Quest for Al Williamson's Flash Gordon #1"
"Al did several similar pieces of, known commonly as The Space Pirate. These were done, along with several similar Flash Gordon pieces for sale to people who had always wanted a Williamson original, but couldn't find one, and were sold at New York conventions in the late 1960's.
Enjoy!

Beautiful pick-ups Brian! I was fortunate enough to get a very cool swashbuckler sketch from Al at a show in Ithaca, NY 13 years ago. I wish I had had the funds to commission something from him at the time. Great creative and influential force in the industry.

Al along with John Buscema and Chuck Jones I most regret never getting a chance to meet.

This is from Swan's last issue of Superman, right? Pretty cool.
Looking at your CAF gallery, it is amazing how fast your collection has grown to over 90 pages. Keep'em coming.
