When Jun Bob Kim sent me a jpg of the first piece that he agreed to do for me, I immediately asked him to do another. As a kid, I was captivated by the Marvel Team-Up and X-Men stories featuring the heroes going up against this twisted maniac. There was something about those stories that really appealed to me and Jun managed to capture the essense of these stories, while taking it in his own, unique direction!

"Daddy cut off my allowance, the next day I cut off daddy's life."

I suppose you know the behind-the-scenes story, there. It was my intent that every time Arcade showed up he would tell his "origin", and every time it would be different. Which is why I didn't put a whole lot of thought into the one I gave him. Unfortunately, that one became carved in stone.

(The DEEP backstory, as some of you may know, was that Mr. Chambers was actually Arcade's father, a multi-billionaire who was indulging his crazy son.)

Hmmm, you had the origin-changing gig going on with the psychotic villian long before Nolen did his thing with the Joker eh. Arcade is a fun villian and largely missed opportunity for Marvel. He has been sorely underused... and misused.

Paul Dini was also doing that with the Joker long before Nolen came along.

I asked Ivan Reis to do a Shadowflame head shot at Boston Comic Con. He was a very nice guy!
