The Perez Red Tornado and Zatara are so simple and yet so brilliant. They seem to capture so much more than should be possible with so few lines... They really have the spirit of what I always loved in comics.

Wow! If comics were what they used to be, Frenz would be a god right
now!

George continues to "push" his faces, not satisfied to rest on his laurels.

See? That's what makes him George!!

It was my intent that every time Arcade showed up
++++

Now, there´s a character which I feel probably needs some updating!

Does he still wear bell-bottoms?

Arcade, as many of you probably already know, was based visually (at Chris' suggestion) on Malcolm McDowell, who was then best known for A CLOCKWORK ORANGE.

So, before we think about updating Arcade, let's think about the current crop of "talent" at Marvel, who would probably think they were being blindingly innovative if they put him in white overalls, with a black bowler and false lashes on one eye!

(The DEEP backstory, as some of you may know, was that Mr. Chambers was actually Arcade's father, a multi-billionaire who was indulging his crazy son.)

*************

Wow! Never heard about that one.

The amazing part with George is he only used refernce on the tw Red Tornados, Ma's younger civilian look and the original look of the second one. He made mention that Ma was the second unusual request he had at the show, the other being Martha Wayne. It was a pleasure for me to watch him as he layed down the pencil foundation for each face and then tighten it with the inks. Geroge brought with him roughly 5 or 6 pads of paper for the quick headshots and was completely out of paper by saturday night. I also marveled at him explaining to a 6 year old boy the back story of Deathstroke and how/why they used the name Slade on the cartoon, he also did a quick sketch of what Slade looked like without the mask to show the young lad that Slade/Deathstroke was an older man.
