Mikael, I enjoy your art tremendously.  IMO Your style is very reminescent of Jerry Bingham, be interested to know if he's one of your influences?

I was cruising around the web and stumbled upon a rather serious-looking shot of Wil Wheaton playing some kind of "baddie" on The Big Bang Theory. I've been looking for something personal to create lately and it was so cool to see Wil looking serious that I was inspired to make this:

I know everyone hated Wesley but I think an X-Files style show centering around a super-science genius in Star Fleet could have been cool.

Mods: This is the second time in as many weeks that I've skirted the self-promotion bubble, I know. My www is only on there because I plan on posting this to my personal site soon. I understand if this whole post needs to come down, though :)

Mikael,

How do you know your lettering will fit into those boxes?  Do you scale the text afterwards?

Thanks.

Darren: He's one of many influences, in that I'm easily taken in by good artists and immidiatly try to emulate whatever I can.

William: I have very detailed pencils, so the text is there, only not shown when shot from inks.

Mikael, what you just posted gave me flashbacks of Jack Kirby's pencils, some of which do include dialogue and captions with the pencils.  I noticed that few artists do that.

Just to show that I'm still in the loop...

This being the wrap-up of FIFA World Cup, it brought to mind YouTube videos and all those things that you know they have to keep putting up there.  What with all the arms and legs swinging about and the kicking, who knows how many times this has happened.  What really blows my mind is that a war once started over the game.  (Honest to Gosh!)

Carmen, that's hysterical!
JT-cool poster, really like the composition.
Darren-awesome cover, love the lightning effects

I figured out how to make speed lines in photoshop today, so I figured I'd put that knowledge to use...(and when I say I "figured out," I mean I googled "speedlines in photoshop" and read a tutorial)
