I am seethingly jealous of you colour-posting folks right now - the last couple of pages have been brilliant. Mikael, Sebastien and Joe, great work as always. Carmen, that last one of yours is disturbingly reminiscent of Australia's World Cup campaign...

Sketchbook time - the footy was on this arvo (Australian Rules, not the soccer) so it was out with the book for some fast and loose sketching, which turned out pretty well, actually. You know how you never read about Conan thinking he'd bitten off more than he could chew...? Oh yeah, happy 4th to all you US folks. Have a good one, hope the weather's fine.

Looks like Conan's in an awkward position, Mal.  I'm not sure he can get a good footing before the giant lizard-thing he's perched upon starts blinking or shaking its head.  Hopefully, all those years of sword swinging have helped his reflexes.

Everyone else has been posting some pretty good stuff.  With the holiday to relax, I hope to have at least one thing up.  Why not a patriotic theme from me?  Say, my vision of Ceasar Rodney's ride, perhaps.

When I was working as an assistant sculptor to Casey Eskridge, who sculpted The Birth of Apollo, which is part of an amazing fountain on the Nashville Symphony grounds, I got more opportunity to do some of his McFarlane work. This Walter Payton portrait I created in wax.

I taught drawing to middle schools students when I lived in Puebla, Mexico. One of the lessons I taught was caricature. I did two demonstrations for them to show that caricature goes from the more realistic, to the more cartoony. This is Paul Teutal from American Choppers.

Charicatures.  Like that idea.

Here's a literal 5-minute sketch I was doing while waiting for my laptop to start up this afternoon:
