Good variety here, as always :)
Here's my latest nonsense. A silly made-up video game box.
It's probably come out a bit small here but you get the idea.

NICE! Holly looks exactly like the kind of girl I'd get hooked up with.
Here's a sketch I did the other night at a restaurant of a swing band that was playing. It's pencil on watercolor paper. May develop this further when/if I get the chance.

Bill, I ought to get my old man to know about this. He's a big fan of the old swing bands. Here's my latest:
Part one was just my attempt at designing a bathing suit for a pinup style drawing that I may be doing for my DeviantART.com gallery later this month. Part two is my depiction of something that I saw happen on television this past weekend during a NASCAR race (yes, I am a NASCAR nut). Elliott Sadler, who drove this #19 Ford in the 500-mile race at Pocono Raceway, was very lucky that the boilerplate guardrail deformed like it did. It was one of the most violent impacts that I saw in auto racing accidents in a long time.

CARMEN: They play the first Monday of every month at Bearno's By The Bridge in Louisville, KY.
JT: LOL. She's all yours :)
Here's a sketch I'm working on that'll serve as the basis of a new acrylic portrait I'm doing of my son.

I got off my duff around lunchtime today to juggle a couple of illustration ideas around. Pencil on some scrap pages clipped out of an old sketch notebook.
The problem I was tackling here would be how to get my character's hair into one of those 1960s "beehive" styles. Normally, she'd let it hang down loose, where its length would be just past the bottom of her shoulder blades. I'm quite sure that ladies doing the beehive thing used some sort of device to pin their hair so that it wound around it in a ball shape, then pulled it out to let their hair down... Any suggestions for reference?

Second daily sketch that I did today...
This time, I was tackling how I'd portray Jenny in her custom-made bikini. Basically a fancy spaghetti-strap number with a few florishes sewn on. Really sexy, without being too provocative... The idea is to do a picture for my DeviantART.com gallery to be uploaded later this month, or as a "gift" for any viewers who push my gallery visits above the 2,500 level. This was also an experiment with my collection of colored pencils. I was trying to find the right combination to create the flesh tone desired for Jenny, who is something of a sun-worshipper and would have a healthy amount of pigmentation on her as a result. So far, it looks like a combination of the following Prismacolor hues works best. - Light Peach/Deco Peach
- Beige
- Rosey Beige

Today as I take my breaks from painting I'll be posting my progress. So expect updates every couple of hours ... unless things go horribly wrong. Ha.
