Thanks, JT! This is about an hour's progress since I last posted.

I think it must be 30+ years since I even attempted to draw Thor. In fact I'm not sure I ever did but lately I've had a hankering to try some superheroes again so I'm trying to do some scribbles each day. This evening out came my 1974 Thor Treasury Edition and I managed this.

The more I look at this the more I can see all the glaring faults but it's spurred me on to try more.

Another hour gone by and a bit more progress. Honing in on details now so the progress isn't quite as dramatic (or maybe even as noticeable).  Gonna break for dinner.

Looks like you're making good progress there, Bill!  What branch of the service is your boy enlisted in, if I may ask?

Things are going well so far. He's a Lance Corporal in the Marines, currently stationed in Okinawa.

Squeezed a little more out of myself this afternoon.

This time, I was trying to tackle another costume design for my character named Jennifer, in preparation for a possible piece for the DeviantART.com gallery.  One of the ideas was to have her dancing in the halter top and denim miniskirt depicted here.

There was also further experimentation with the colored pencils here, this time using what was supposed to be a colored pencil "blender".  Well, it didn't blend so well and carried some of the pigment with it.  Still, the Prismacolor pallette is quite versatile and can still be applied to my sketches.

In the future, I'll be posting more random subjects, including some layouts and designs to be used in the story in which Jenny is set.  I'll also follow along with some of the daily themes which're coming up here and in other artist sites to which I'm registered.

Great work on that painting, Bill.

Your son is lucky. I hear Okinawa is nice.

It's fun showing the progress. Here's where I'm at now. Due to a mid-afternoon meeting, I got kind of a late start today working on it. Still have work to do on the shirt, hat and background, but it's getting there.
