Peter that is really nice.

Bill is it a lot harder to work in oils, I have never worked in them and they kind of intimidate me.

Wow, Peter. Love the technique!

Jodi: I enjoy it more and it actually seems easier in that I don't pencil my painting out first on the canvas. I just block out the basic shapes with my paints and then add more and more details. It's fun and always seems like magic as I begin seeing the subject emerge. But so far I've never tried something more complex than a portrait. So we'll see how it goes.  I have all all my reference together, so hopefully it goes smooth. Oh, and I'm using water soluable oils too. Haven't worked up the courageto do the real thing yet either. Ha!

It's very, very hard to get a photograph with my iPhone that's close to being accurate, but this is tbasically what the finished Blob poster looks like. I left some of it kinda loose, but I kinda like it that way.  Onto the next painting!

Here's what I'm working on this morning. Looks kind of like a 5 year old's work right now. Working with oils is like stepping out in faith that somehow ti will all come out alright. Ha.

Here's an update. Probably stretch my legs for a bit with a walk, but I hope to get a bit further yet today.

Great work all!

I have been testing out a trial version of SketchBook Pro
2011 and thought I would share some doodles. It has an
awesome symmetry tool that I can't believe Photoshop
doesn't have and didn't do years ago. Great for quick
conceptualizing ideas.

Nice Bill! Good to see I'm not the only one who's been painting lately, haha. I did this for an upcoming benefit some family friends do every year.

(and yes, I'm from the southside of Chicago)

Squeezed a bit of painting into my busy day. Lots, of course, yet to do.
