Very interersting two diferent inking works, Joe.

A very difficlut pose but well solved. The Miller-ian red details are cool.

The turttles are quite difficult too, but you catched the anatomy and the different textures. Congrats.

Thank you Sergio.

I figure if I keep going to both extremes my 'style' will eventually 'meet in the middle'. LOL

Although, in hindsight, I'm not so sure that pose 'works'.
It looks a bit forced to my eye, and the anatomy is way off on the right arm and off on the torso as well.

Mr. Simonson was preaching about lightsource the other day on his Facebook page, and I chose The Spirit as my guinea pig.

My apologies to Mr. Eisner. I promise to do a better one, Will!

(as for the Tortoise, I think that's a bad scan. I know the front left leg isn't as closed up as it looks there, so I may do an edit tomorrow)

Sigh. Baby steps.

Joe that turtle is AMAZING!!!!!!

JT I really dig the the look of that piece, I know I am saying this like an old person but, You just can't beat pencil, for giving a piece, a really great look. The tight shot of the woman crying in the middle right panel is a thing of beauty.

DC Great Storm!

JT, that pencil effect is perfect with your style! Looks great, man!

Joe, Your -internet- tortoise is excellent. The line work choices you went with really works for you!

Peter, I love the pencil/shading effect you did on that portrait. (the texturing on the shirt and the grading on the background is real nice!) I've done a few portraits before, and that 'softening' is real hard to do right. Well done.
