I agree with Mr Byrne's comments that a bulky Iron Man does not look more sophisticated.  As things become more sophisticated, they get smaller and leaner.  Think of how a laptop and monitor combo looks now compared to a computer in 1983.

I have always liked the Michelenie and Layton specialist armors though.  However, they kept them rare and I always considered them to be experimental types Stark created en route to incorporating their powers into the "real" armor.

Ray Brady:  When's the last time this happened? How long has it been since a character who had previously worn civilian clothing elected to graduate to standard super-hero togs?

I doubt if it's the last time it happened, but I got a real kick out of seeing Dr. Sivana do this in DC COMICS PRESENTS ANNUAL #3, drawn by Gil Kane.  Sivana tapped into the power of Shazam somehow, and wound up with the same powers as the Marvel Family.  He even wore a green version of the familiar costume.  Terrific visual.

Awesome.  Simply awesome.

Every member has left the group at one time or another.  Most of the time, she has been present though.

Lurk…lurking…..This is my favorite commission you have shared with us to date, Mr. Byrne!!!! It makes me want to go out and find copies those books. That story line was my favorite Avengers run. I can remember the anticipation for the next book to hit the stands after the Avengers beat the Lethal Legion by "default". I can still see the shock wave that Nefaria produced that knocked the Avengers to the ground. An Avenger commenting, "not even the Hulk could produce a shock wave of that size". That was good soup there. This piece makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
