A friend -- yes, I do have a couple -- and I were chatting yesterday, and he mentioned that he recently cleaned out his at-home office and found he had several sheets of uncut Marvel cards, he thinks from the 80s. Anybody know where he can look to find out what these might be worth? I don't have a clue.

Uncut Marvel Trading Cards, doo dah, doo dah...
(No idea what they're worth, but that jumped into my head when I saw the
title.)

There SHOULD be some price guides out there -- has your friend checked ebay for comparable items, just to get a feel for the going price (assuming these things aren't as rare as hen's teeth, that is).
Now, that said -- I presume this uncut sheet doesn't include ol' blue-eyed Benjy, the Thing . . . after all, he IS Jewish, right?
:-D

I'd try eBay.

I work at a comic shop on Saturdays and, recently, my boss and I found a sheet of uncut Marvel trading cards. We ended up throwing them out. The market, to the best of my knowledge and from what I have been told, is oversaturated with backstock, and there's minimal demand for non-sports cards right now.

Are these the cards Jim Lee did of the X-Men? If so, that would be pretty cool to hang on the wall.

The only superhero trading cards I bought were the first ones Marvel produced in many a year, starting in 1990. I know that this first set is really the only set that is worth much of anything. The checklist reads as follows:
That should help determine if your friend has the first set or another set. The cards themselves look like this:
If the uncut sheets of cards your friend has are from the set above, I think it's worth it for him to check around. Best place to start would be eBay using keywords from the pictures above.

I have that set that Matt's posted. And a couple that came afterwards. That was a fun time for me in comics. A whole bunch of people I knew where into those cards big time. I'm pretty sure I have a full set sitting in some drawer or box somewhere. I should dig 'em out and have a look at them.

I found a place he might be able to contact, at least in terms of steering him in the right direction, JB.

I've yet to find any price list though. Perhaps the site listed above will have knowledgable people.

Here's a link to a page on eBay that lists card sets found under the keywords "Marvel Universe". Looks like the Series 1 cards that I posted above are, far and away, the most expensive. Hope that helps!
